2362 - STREAK & COLOR COLLECTION - 8 SPEC. + STREAK PLATES

This collection contains eight colorful mineral specimens: selenite, sulfur, chromite, calcite, magnetite, hematite, limonite, and fluorite, along with a black and white streak plate. Streak is the color of a mineral's powder when it is rubbed across a streak plate. A mineral's streak, combined with its surface color, is an important property that geologists use to help identify rocks and minerals. Each numbered specimen measures approximately 1" x 1.5". Recommended for grades 6 through 12. Geology is a required STEM subject.
